A cheetah resting in the grass at Washington National Zoo
About Charles Ray
I'm a writer of various genres, fiction and nonfiction, and have been a photographer for several decades. During the 1970s, I did photography for several newspapers and regional magazines in North Carolina, and feature photography for 'Asia Magazine,' an insert in English language newspapers in the Asia-Pacific region. Like my writing, my photography crosses subject lines, but I am particularly fond of nature and wildlife photography. You can see my photography, art work, and excerpts from my writing at my blogs: Charles Ray's Ramblings - http://charlieray45.wordpress.com Free flow of ideas is the cornerstone of democracy - http://charlesray.blogspot.com My photos are also at...

First of all, thanks to each and everyone for the kind comments. This was shot at the Washington National Zoo. The cheetahs are so shy, even in the zoo it's hard to get more than a few shots of them. I actually had to make two trips before I got this one.
